Regan Wheatley, former SVHS student and Dragon’s Tale member is furthering her journalism career at UCSB. Wheatley was a part of the newspaper staff at SVHS for her junior and senior year. During her junior year, she was co-editor for the feature department, and senior year she was the editor of the Dragon’s Tale.

Wheatley’s passion and love for journalism sparked her interest to join the UCSB school paper known as, The Daily Nexus. She noted, “I write for the news department. I’ve written for it since October 2020.” 

Last week she “was recognized as writer of the week.” This accomplishment is no surprise as Wheatley dedicated her time to editing and writing quality articles while leading the Dragon’s Tale staff. 

When asked about her feelings on continuing journalism said, “I’m very excited that I was able to continue my journalistic endeavors past high school, into college, despite virtually learning.” 

Wheatley’s success is an inspiration to current and future Dragon’s Tale staff members.
