Varsity football has started the season red hot with a 6-0 record and momentum on their backs.
The team has equaled their best start to a season since 1992. The Dragons have won all but one of their games by 3 or more scores; their only close scoring game being against Montgomery High School which ended with a win of 39-32.
The Dragons are led by a stout defense and a high-powered offense that sports a balanced offensive attack. Junior Quarterback Dalan Lopata leads the Redwood Empire – Mountain conference in passing yards with a total of 1,232 yards and running back Cayden Waldrop, also a junior, has a conference leading 741 rushing yards. The Dragons also sport a suffocating defensive line with league leading totals in sacks and tackles.
They hope to ride their hot streak through the homecoming game (Friday, Oct. 18), the rest of the season, and, ultimately, playoffs.
