The Vote Has Spoken

 

  Everyone is talking about the 2018 midterms! From teenagers to the Golden State Warriors to celebrities… the midterms are the action of democracy.

   Due to the 113 million voters in the polls the Democrats took the house, but the Republicans still hold the Senate.

   There is also a record number of women in Congress according to the Washington Post. Only 84 women had ever held  office in the Congress, but now 100 women are in Congress.

  The first Muslim woman, Rashida Tlaib, entered Congress and the first African American women, Ayanna Pressley, in Congress from Massachusetts.  The first openly gay governor, Jared Polis, was elected in Colorado. Overall, the midterms was groundbreaking and progressive for minorities.

 Using their voice to vote through social media, apps, texts, and signs, eligible voters were reminded of their duty to vote.
