This year, the girls are fifth in VVAL with a record of 3-4-1. The team this year has had success scoring 28 goals so far and averaging 2.3 goals per game. The team has found a rhythm and doesn’t intend on slowing down with the intensity.

With the most dominant win this season, the Dragon’s defeated the Napa Grizzlies. Brianna Jurasek (sophomore) made her name known by scoring four goals against Napa. With the help of Somhi Gibs (junior), Jazmyne Baron (sophomore), and Tilly Francis (sophomore) each scored one of their own to help secure a landslide win of 7-0.

In a crushing defeat in Petaluma against the Trojans on their home field, the Dragons battled hard but were defeated in a 3-0 loss. The game was a hard fought loss. Moving on, the Dragons are now prepared to play the next game with new strategies and attitude to play another Petaluma opponent.

After playing the Vintage High Crushers, the Dragons played the American Canyon Wolves. The Wolves were overwhelmed by the Dragon’s attack with an astonishing six goals scored by full-time. Jurasek being the most prominent scorer got a hat-trick, Abby Janson (senior) scored a brace -2 scores-, and Baron puts one in the books as well. With this win the Dragons advance to play Vintage once more at home.

Most recently, the varsity girls faced the Vintage Crushers’ at Midgely Field leading 2-0 in the first half. One highlighted goal by Jurasek was when she took on the back line by herself and kicked the ball in the top left corner. Unfortunately, in the second half, the Dragons couldn’t keep their lead letting it become 2-2 with many close calls until the final whistle ended the game with a tie.
