With the new 2022-23 school year has been a change in administration following the departures of former Principal Hutchinson and two Vice-Principal’s at the end of last year. To take on the highest admin position is Ms. Kiss, joined by by Vice Principals Snow, Schlosser, and Dowdy.

Principal Kiss is a familiar face on campus as a Vice Principal from last year, and before that she was previously an assistant principal as an academy in San Francisco for three years. Miss Kiss has a two year old son named Quinn. In her free time she enjoys being with her family, cooking, watching movies, and spending time at then park with her son.

Vice-Principal Snow

Mr. Snow is one of the three new vice principals. He lives in Sonoma but originally worked in Oakland. He chose to work at SVHS to be connected with the community and to reduce his  commute. In his free time Mr. Snow enjoys rock climbing, hiking and swimming. Alongside that, he is a new dad of 2 ½ years, keeping him busy in his free time when not supporting the student’s.

Vice-Principal Schlosser

Mr. Schloesser is also new to the high school community, as he is previously taught at Petaluma Highschool as a special education teacher and English teacher. He also spent time being the head wrestling coach there. Mr. Schloesser spends his time with his two kids, aged 7 and 11 years old. He follows his kids’ passions of sports such as soccer, football, gymnastics. Their love for athletics runs through the family as he works in the school’s Athletics department.

Vice-Principal Dowdy

Finally, Ms. Dowdy, who taught in Petaluma for 11 years, first as a 3rd grade teacher for two years and then as a 6th grade teacher for nine years. When she was offered to work at SVHS, she took the position to move up as she has always wanted to live in a small town and end up working at a High School. Ms. Dowdy enjoys camping in her free time and has been visiting Yosemite Park since she was twelve years old with her family. She is set to get married later this month and become the stepmother of two boys.
