Sonoma Valley High School students, get ready to step into the spotlight. The SVHS Drama Department is holding auditions for the spring play, “Radium Girls,” and everyone is invited to audition.
What is it?
“Radium Girls” is this year’s spring production, and auditions are happening February 3 from 3:45-6:00 PM, with callbacks on February 5 from 3:45-6:00 PM, all in the Little Theater. Students must sign up for an audition in H15.
What’s it about?
“Radium Girls” tells the true story of young women who worked at a factory painting watches that glowed in the dark. At first, the characters enjoyed their job, but they soon discovered it was dangerous because of radium in the watch paint. They stood up for themselves and fought for better conditions. The play is about friendship, bravery, and using your voice to create change!
Audition Basics
Come with a 1-2 minute monologue prepared, and be ready to move during the audition. If you have a theater resume or headshot, feel free to bring it. Make sure the audition information is completed by or before your audition day.
Want more info before auditioning?
There will be two optional audition info meetings/workshops for anyone with questions about auditions or what being in the school play involves: Thursday, 1/22, and Tuesday, 1/27 – 3:45-4:30 PM in H15. These meetings are helpful, but not required to audition.
