Monday, Feb. 14, students came to school decked out in pink and red to commemorate the long awaited Valentine’s day. Whether it be with friends or significant others, Valentines were celebrated with special treats and cute notes.

One V-day lover, senior Taneka Ingemansson, spent her Valentines day with both her boyfriend and friends. She loves the holiday not only for the decorations and treats in stores, but thinks “it’s just really sweet to celebrate love whether it’s platonic or romantic, as cheesy as it may sound.”

Although he was in quarantine, Taneka and her boyfriend “ordered each other takeout and watched one of [their] favorite rom-coms, Sleepless in Seattle, over facetime.”

Additionally, Taneka made sure to dress up with her girlfriends and celebrate with tons of decorations and treats from Trader Joe’s.

Another Valentine’s Day go-er, senior Riku Gilman, spent the holiday on a date making Carbonara pasta and watching trippy anime on Hulu.

His most favorite things about Valentine’s Day are that he gets to express his passion and love for those around him as well as the feeling of holding hands knowing that scorpio children are being conceived during that moment.

However, Riku claims not to “like when other people publicly display their affection for each other” and adds, “it’s cringe.”

Riku prefers “to spend the holiday with a significant other, if [he] has it.” He says his favorite treat is a “biiig box of chocolates.”

After full hearts and full tummies, only one thing’s for certain; our Dragons like to spark the flame of love.
