Bottlerock Lineup Sparks Mixed Reactions from SVHS Students

With the new Sonoma County ban to have a maximum 50 people in attendance at indoor events and 100 people at outside events, SVHS students worry about the future of local concerts planned for spring.

The highly anticipated Napa music festival, Bottlerock, announced their 3 day lineup on January 12th, leaving SVHS students with mixed feelings.

Junior Sebastian De Anda-Garcia worries that bottlerock “may or may not get canceled because of covid” since “[he] wants to go to the concert to see Metallica.” Fellow junior and Metallica fan, Sam Cutting, feels that “Twenty One Pilots is the only dud in the lineup.”

However, Cutting also believes that “the supporting acts like The Black Crowes and Greta Van Fleet are really solid this year.” Continuing the positivity, senior and country music fan Campbell Rolston is excited that Bottlerock included Luke Combs in the lineup. She admires Combs because “he seems like such a fun person and he definitely shows that through his music.”

While Bottlerock did include a lot of SVHS students’ favorite artists, sophomore Nate Szakallas wishes “[the lineup had] different cultures and types of music.” Although the lineup seems to incorporate some latine performers, Szakallas feels the headlining artists “should cover more Spanish and other diverse artists.”
