Police Response at the Capital

A large mob of insurrectionists stormed the capitol building in response to Joe Biden being officially elected as the President of the United States.

A week after these events occurred lawmakers called for investigations and many suspects across the country were taken into custody.

However, the question on everyone’s mind was, where was the police?

Police presence at the event was minimal, allowing the insurrectionists to proceed inside the capitol building with minimal effort.

The insurrectionists planned for weeks to wreak havoc on January 6 at the capitol, yet still, there was a major lack of authority there.

Five people died during the riots. President Trump was impeached for inciting the insurrection. Capitol police and federal authorities had initially declined the help of the National Guard.

In contrast, six months earlier at the Black Lives Matter protests, there was evident National Guard presence in every major city across the U.S.

There is controversy concerning President-elect Biden’s Inauguration as there are worries of another act of insurrection occurring.

There will be a lot of police and military on duty January 20 that is for sure.
