SVHS Girls’ Lacrosse is bigger and better than ever this year with a roster of returning and new players. The sport has gained substantial popularity among athletes and spectators, which has heavily supported girls’ sports as a whole at our school. With the leadership of seniors and captains Tiana Harris and Solana Staes, the team is the best its ever been. Currently, their overall record is 4-2.
Beginning on a high note, the team won their first non-league match against St. Vincent with a dominating score of 15-4. Their next game was against Casa Grande, which unfortunately was cut at halftime due to lightning. The score at the time was 3-4, meaning it counted as a loss for the dragons.
A few days later, the team rebounded and defeated Archie Williams with a comfortable score of 9-5. Sadly, they lost their next home game against Novato with a score of 18-9.
Once again, though, the dragons rallied back with a huge win against Cardinal Newman and a final score of 12-3.
