Each one of the dragons played a vital role in the success of the team. Throughout the season some athletes left their mark on the Season. Siena Hoban, point guard for the Dragons, couldn’t be stopped on the offensive end racking up 280 point
s throughout the season. Although she was a scoring threat, her passing ability shouldn’t be overlooked as she dimed her teammates for a bucket 80 times this season. Also with a +/- of +348, there was no debate about her immensely positive impact on the court for the Dragons. Siena’s ability doesn’t stop on the offensive end, as she recorded 116 steals and 142 deflections making her a menace to any opposing offensive. Trinity Wilkens, power forward for the Dragons, was dominant in the paint scoring 174 points inside the painted area. Boxing her out was challenging for the opposing teams as Trinity grabbed 219 rebounds throughout the season, 105 of them being on the offensive end. She was an anchor for the Dragons on the defensive end, stealing the ball 94 times and blocking 30 shots. Presley Sorensen, shooting guard for the Dragons, was a nightmare matchup for any opposing team. She had a clutch gene, with an eFG% of 46.5% in the 4th quarter throughout the season. Presley always helped the Dragons get off to hot starts with a +/- of +114 in the first quarter. She recorded 64 steals and 97 deflections solidifying the Dragon’s ability to get stops on the defensive end.
The lady dragons celebrated their seniors preceding their game against Casa Grande with a ceremony commemorating all of their hard work throughout the years. 6 seniors walked on the red carpet that night all of whom were accompanied by friends, family, etc. Although the night didn’t end as hoped as the Dragons lost 48-50 to the Gauchos, it was one to remember. Their season doesn’t end here, now the Dragons move onto NCS playoffs where they will compete for potentially a shot at the state championship.
