At the end of the 2019-2020 school year SVHS began construction to revamp the track area.

The plan for construction was to build a football field in that area and surround the field with a track. This is the format that many high schools use for their football fields and tracks.

This is very big news for Sonoma as previously, the football team had to play home games at Arnold Field.

With the recent passing of Mr. Midgley, SVHS students started a petition to rename the new field, “Midgley Field” in honor of his legacy.

Currently this is just a petition but if enough people sign, the name of the field could actually honor Mr. Midgley.
