Girls’ Soccer On The Verge

With a record of 3-3-2 in league play, the girls’ soccer team currently sits in third place in the Vine Valley Athletic League (VVAL) entering the final four games of league play.

Alexia Contreras, a junior in her second year on varsity, mentions that “Casa Grande is the toughest competition” as they hope to “maintain a top four spot in league.”

Suffering a 4-0 lost against Casa Grande on Jan. 23, the Lady Dragons look to bounce back on the road against Justin-Siena on  Jan. 28 and on senior night at Arnold Field against Vintage on Jan. 30.

Bella Brophy, a freshman, comments that “the team is welcoming and inclusive…we are looking to qualify for North Coast Sectional (NCS) playoffs.”

With four games remaining in the regular season schedule, a strong finish to the season could propel girls’ soccer into prominent post season play.
