Camryn Berger Rows On Petaluma River

A member of crew at North Bay Rowing Club in Petaluma, Camryn Berger, a sophomore at SVHS, is part of the unique, often overlooked sport of rowing.

Often not talked about as a popular sports pastime, rowing requires commitment. Berger practices five days a week, rain or shine, August to May.

With competitions held all over the West Coast, Berger has traveled to places like Seattle, Oregon, and San Diego to name a few.

Berger claims that “the races are definitely the best. They are really fun especially when we travel out of state.”

When competing at rowing events, Berger races in the boats containing eight and two (doubles) people.
Berger explains that “her favorite parts are participating in camps and creating friendships that make the experience fun.”

With the summer season consisting of only practices, Berger has competed since freshman year and is at the forefront of the rowing community at SVHS.
