Dom Girish Named SF Chronicle North Bay Player of the Year

Our very own senior Dom Girish was named North Bay Player of the Year for basketball by the San Francisco Chronicle. Dom has had an outstanding career at SVHS, playing all four years at the varsity level totaling 1,757 total points.

Girish played 28 games in both his freshman and senior year, however, he scored significantly more points in his senior year, 400 more to be exact. Dominic is one of the best basketball players this school has ever seen. He has played four years of varsity level basketball under the coaching of Mike Boles as well as playing for Team Rampage, an AAU club team, throughout high school.

Girish led his team to an NCS playoff berth and won a game for the first time in about twenty years. His mark on Sonoma’s Basketball program will remain for years.

The Sonoma athlete has grown tremendously in front of his hometown crowd, from a starry eyed freshman to a hard and chiseled senior, yearning to make the world his oyster. He is now known as the neighborhood hero. He plans to attend Colorado School of Mines where he will continue to play D2 basketball.

SVHS is proud of Dom and can not wait to see what his future holds.
