Recently, two of SVHS finest athletes, Dominic Girish and Aidan Griggs Demmin, signed to play collegiate sports at their respective universities.
Dominic Girish signed to play Division 2 basketball at the Colorado School of Mines. When talking about his future at Mines, Girish stated that he is “very grateful for the opportunity to both play basketball and continue [his] academic career at such a prestigious university. Mines was the perfect fit for [him] because they are widely regarded as one of the top Division 2 basketball programs.

Haverford was the right choice for [him] because the university fosters an environment that holds both students and athletes to a high academic standards.
The signing day ceremony was held in the College and Career Center, with financial support from boosters on the backdrops for the photos taken of the athletes and their families.
Freshman attendee and younger brother of Dominic, Vinny Girish, stated that the “event was very cool and it seemed like a lot of effort was put in to make the day feel special. I loved sharing that moment with my brother and I was very happy to see how many people showed up to support!”
Many reciprocated the younger Girish’s views, as the ceremony was a positive experience for all involved. There was not a straight face in the room, as everyone could not help but smile at the young men with such a bright future ahead of them.
