Startin’ up with Girls’ Soccer

Girls’ soccer is looking strong this year and is looking to follow in last year’s footsteps. Last year’s girls varsity team went 8-6-3.

Rue Gobbe, junior, who plays wing stated, “We have really good chemistry; our team is looking really strong and I am super excited to see how we do.”

The varsity is quite a young team. There are a lot of sophomore students who made the varsity squad. In two years we could have an even stronger team.

The squad includes 2 freshmen, 4 sophomores, 9 juniors, and 1 senior.

The girls’ team had their first league game on the 16th against Justin-Siena High School. They came out on top with a final score of 2-1.

Caroline Studdert, junior, led the team to victory scoring both goals, she will be an exciting player for the dragons this year.

With a promising start to the season, the Lady Dragons are going to look to continue with the win streak and maybe bring home a league title for Sonoma.
