Sports have been halted since March 2020, and their return depends on the color tier Sonoma country is in. Since the stay at home order has just been lifted, sports have light.

North Coast Section (NCS) announced that schools would be able to set their sports seasons based on the color tier their country is in. The VVAL developed two seasons which are awaiting approval by NCS. 

The first season would begin from February 8, 2021, to April 17, 2021. The Second season is prospered from April 12, 2021, to June 12, 2021. If sports were to resume student-athletes would have choices to make as NCS has made it clear that participating in two sports simultaneously will not be allowed. This includes conditioning for a second sport while playing another sport. Another note to make is if the sports seasons happen the second season ends after the last day of school. 

The sports by tier are as follows:

PURPLE: Cross-Country, Golf, Tennis, Track & Field, Swimming and Diving

RED: Baseball, Softball, Girls Lacrosse, Field Hockey

ORANGE: Football, Boys Lacrosse, Soccer, Volleyball, Water Polo, Badminton, Volleyball

YELLOW: Competitive Cheerleading, Basketball, Wrestling

Of course, all sports seasons depend on the Coronavirus pandemic and Sonoma counties response to the ongoing deadly virus will determine the fate of sports at SVHS.
