All SVHS Sports Pushed Back Due to COVID
The board of the North Coast Section (NCS) has decided to condense what would normally be three sports seasons into two, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The decision was made to also accommodate the spacing in-between sports as well as the overlap of certain seasons to consider the well-being of athletes.
SVHS Athletic Director and varsity men’s basketball head coach, Mike Boles, stated that “we recognize this upcoming school year will require creativity, flexibility, and working together to best serve our Dragon student-athletes. As a program, we are currently waiting very patiently.”
Sports programs at SVHS have the ability to condition outdoors following the specific district and county health guidelines, however, the recent unhealthy air quality in the North Bay has postponed this as well.
Boles went on to mention, “Teams look forward to getting outdoors and conditioning very shortly.”
