New Identity For No Name Cafe

No Name Cafe updated its menu just in time for the new year, offering snacks and entrees that fit seasonally and to student’s likings. The No Name Cafe is now under SVUSD Food Services management due to financial details and requirements. Despite the cafe no longer being run by Teen Services, their tutoring program is still available and students will continue to work behind the counter.

Cody Williams, head of SVUSD Food Service Management, explained that “if regulations are not up to date, then funds can be withheld when officials come to review.” Williams is “super thankful for everything Teen Services did.”

Not only has management changed, but also have products and food prices. Cookies are now being sold for $.75 rather than $2.00, bagels and sandwiches from the Bagel Shop and Basque are offered, along with returning snacks.

Williams wishes to “have a slightly different identity from the cafeteria by having three entrees throughout the day and incorporate fresh pastries for break.” As lunch time rolls around, the entrees of the day will be sold along with snacks from break. Williams emphasizes that “No Name Cafe is more for what students want.”

As the seasons change, the new management team wishes to include fruit smoothies and more spring-like foods. The plan is to continue to build out from the base menu while following regulations.
