Halloween Events
Students and staff at SVHS showed off their Halloween spirit on–campus in a broken up spirit week lasting from Tuesday up to the following Monday, Halloween. The spirit week ended with a costume contest.
On Tuesday the spirit day was Bikers vs.Surfers, students fought off the cold wearing either black and leather or surfing merch and floral shorts. Wednesday was Flannel Day, and students showed off their fall spirit. A sea of flannels fled the building when a false fire alarm got pulled during the third period.
Thursday was Villain vs. Hero day. Teachers showed off their Dragon pride wearing capes and costumes. Vice Principal Schlosser caused quite the spectacle when he broke up a fight, dressed as Gru from the cartoon Despicable Me. Friday students and teachers alike dressed in black based on the movie franchise Men In Black.
On Halloween students dressed in their costumes and partook in a costume contest at lunch. The winners received a $10 DutchBros gift card and flaunted their costume in front of a crowd. All four of the administrators as well as the office staff were dressed as Care Bears and made a guest appearance in the spooky broadcast during advisory. The library was also decked out with an eerie entrance sporting an inflatable ghost leading students into a tunnel complete with spooky stories and creepy clowns.
