SVHS Welcomes New Spanish Teacher: Ms. Baker
The World Language Dept. welcomed a new teacher this academic year.
Ms. Baker, alumna, always had an inkling that she wanted to pursue a career in education, explaining, “I would say that by my senior year of high school I knew for sure that I wanted to enter this profession. I had so many teachers that were passionate about what they did and made a difference in their students’ lives, and I knew that I wanted to do that as well.”
Ms. Baker’s personal teaching philosophy reflects her conviction that teachers should be more than educators. Teachers ought to be role models for their students and help them cultivate their potential.
One of Ms. Baker’s chief inspirations to pursue a career in education was SVHS’ very own Mr. Merino, explaining, “He really loved what he did for a living, and he was always there to answer my questions and support me.”
Ms. Baker knew she would once again walk the halls of SVHS, saying “Since I am an alumna, I wanted to come back to where it all started and give back to my community!”
When asked if there was anything else she wanted SVHS to know about her, she proclaimed,“I’m excited to be a Dragon again!”
We’re excited to have you back too, Ms. Baker!
