For three years now, art teacher Mr. Anderson has been having students and teachers help pick out his next tattoo. This year, Gianna Cooper designed Anderson’s tattoo, and he is hoping to get it sometime next week or the week after.

In the past, students Bernardo Moya and Tyler Ernest have designed his ink. Anderson says he will be going to Sonoma’s local tattoo artist, Shotsie, at Tarot, Art & Tattoo Studio. The tattoo is of a woman standing in front of a crescent moon. He is still unsure of where on his body he is going to get it.

When asked what inspires Anderson to hold this contest every year, he says, “it’s a good way to basically record my teaching career.” Anderson jokingly explains that he and his good friend Mr. Mitchell hope to create a coffee book of their tattoos together in the future.

This tattoo contest is a tradition that Mr. Anderson hopes to hold on to for years to come.
